Concrete Delivery Subject to Public Works Prevailing Wage w/July 1 Awards
Concrete delivery is subject to public works prevailing wages for jobs awarded July 1. The DIR has been working with the California Construction and Industrial Materials Association (CalCIMA) on the guidance information. We’ll post the final guidance FAQs when they are ready. A few things to know:
- Contractors are responsible for telling ready-mix suppliers if the job is public works.
- Ready-mix suppliers must be registered as Public Works Contractors.
- The applicable prevailing wage classification is Driver – Mixer Trucks and is found under the “Statewide” determinations. There is a July 1 rate increase.
County rates are based on surveyed local prevailing wages and collective bargaining agreements, so the total hourly rate ranges from a low of $19 (Tehama) to a high of $53 (Butte).
